FIFAR Sponsored walk
On the 12th October over 100 people from Risborough Rangers Junior Football club did a sponsored walk along the Phoenix trail with the constant drizzle of rain which happily did not dampen the spirits.
Prior to the walk we were able to capture a photo of all those that took part in front of the BEP stadium with the mayor of Princes Risborough supporting what was a great event. The sponsorship money raised is not known yet but early indicators are that it will provide funds for FIFAR to now go and discuss with our local schools an opportunity of how this money can be used to support the awareness of bullying and knife crime just as examples of how we can help with the cost of an expert to deliver on these topics and potentially more.
After the walk a lot people stayed to watch the Risborough Rangers men’s first team compete in the FA vase 1st round Versus Clacton FC which was very well attended with over 300 spectators but unfortunately our team lost 2-0 but it was another great occasion for our club.
At half time our club was presented with a plaque in recognition of reaching the highest level within grass roots football as a community club.
Thank you to RRJFC for taking a day off training to support the event and to all the parents and children that participated in the walk.
If you are not a member of FIFAR then please join as your £10.00 per annum has a very positive impact on our club and our community. www.fifar.org.uk
