Ethos
Risborough Rangers coach girls and boys of ALL footballing abilities so if your child has never played but wants to come and have a go they will be made very welcome. Players benefit from qualified instruction using the latest soccer methodologies, We work using the FA 4 corners model and our football is closely modelled on the England DNA. Players will also learn individual skills and personal development as well as collective team development.
Football is about having fun and enjoying regular exercise. Helping players develop will also help to build self-confidence. We as coaches believe that everyone can benefit from playing the game and making new friends so come along on Saturday mornings and see what it’s all about.
Coaching philosophy
Our FA qualified coaches provide structured coaching sessions, designed to develop confidence, ability and tactical awareness. We provide a positive, safe and fun environment and in return we expect a willingness to learn, a positive attitude and maximum effort.
The coaching team are volunteers. They are all CRB checked and have completed FA Safeguarding and first aid courses. Two of our coaches are FA Level 2 qualified.
Training
Training is every Tuesday. Tuesday 26th August, Tuesday 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd September will be 6.15 to 7.30pm at Peters Lane, Monks Risborough. From 30th September we will be training from 6.15 to 7.30pm at RAF Halton, HP22 5PG.
Players must wear suitable kit / clothing depending on the weather conditions. Players are expected to wear boots with studs, rather than blades.
Shin pads are mandatory for training and matches – micro shin pads are not permitted.
Parents / guardians
Training is not a drop and run session. We ask parents / guardians to remain during the session, or have someone present who is responsible for their child.
Matches
Our u13s for the 2025-26 season have two teams in the Wycombe South Bucks Mini Football league, division one and division six. Home matches are played on a Sunday in the Risborough area.
Selection of squads is based on merit, attitude, teamwork and a commitment to attending training throughout the season. Match day squads are selected after training and communicated to parents on Spond. For home matches, subs are required (around £3), to cover the cost of the referee.
New Players
We are always looking for new players. If you are in year 8 from September 2025, this is the correct age group. Please send an email to the address above to ask for more information.
